MEET THE CHEF

Chef Barbie has always loved to cook. Her family has a history of over 100 years in the food business and following the old adage, "Do what you love and love what you do", it seemed only natural for her to create Five Star Personal Chef Service. She stresses that her specialty is healthy, nutritious, "comfort food."
In addition to preparing good, wholesome food for her customers, one of her main objectives as a Personal Chef is to bring families back to the dinner table. When parents work, dinner is often fast-food or frozen dinners eaten on the run. This is unhealthy both physically and emotionally. Chef Barbie feels that having dinner already prepared is a huge incentive for a family to come home, looking forward to sharing time, ideas, and the day’s events.
Chef Barbie has served on the Board of Directors of a food manufacturing company in Ohio. As a member of Extension Homemakers for over 15 years she planned and participated in numerous food demonstrations. She is a certified SERVE-SAFE food handler, a charter member of Virginia Personal Chefs Network and she is a proud member of Professional Women's Resources. Barbie's business was recently featured in the Roanoker magazine and in the The Roanoke Times.
Barbie lives on a beef cattle farm with her husband in the beautiful Meadow Creek section of Craig County, VA. Her daughter Kelly is married to Kevin and they live in Richmond. Son John and wife Ashley live in Smithfield, VA. She has two step-children; Chris and wife Sarah, and daughters Jenna and Grace live in Richmond, VA and Kim and, and sons Grant and Adam in Lolo, MT.
